There are two main culprits for leaks—not positioning the cup correctly during insertion, and not having the ReleaseRing™ pulled far enough through the seal at the bottom.
To check the position of the ReleaseRing™
You just have to make sure that the looped portion is fully extended through the bottom of the seal. You should feel it almost click into place when the seal is fully in contact with the pull string.
To ensure proper insertion
Be sure to check that the cup has opened fully. You can do this by running a finger along the bottom of the cup. If you feel any pleats or indentations, that means the cup is not opened fully, and that gap will cause a leakage issue.
Running your finger along the sides of the cup not only tells you if it’s open all the way, it can also help create space for the top rim of the cup to open fully. You may or may not feel a slight “pop” sensation as it opens, which is totally normal. Once you can feel the bottom of the cup fully expanded, you should be good to go!
